Daniel Biss Responds to Trump’s Clean Power Plan Repeal

By

Chicago – Daniel Biss released the following statement in response to Donald Trump’s decision to repeal the Clean Power Plan.

“I’m disappointed by Donald Trump’s decision to repeal the Clean Power Plan. The CPP represented a milestone in our country’s efforts to combat climate change, pursue environmental justice, and build a 21st century energy economy. Coming on the heels of Bruce Rauner’s outsourcing of emissions regulations to coal industry lawyers, one thing is clear: we can’t trust the billionaire businessmen who have benefited the most from our broken economy to stand up for renewable energy in Illinois.

“Illinois should be looking forward and working towards getting 100% of our power from renewable sources. As Governor, I will uphold Illinois’ commitments under the CPP, even if Washington won’t.”
