What Voters Need to Know

OVERVIEW

Democratic primary voters across Illinois’ 9th congressional district need to know that Daniel Biss doesn’t just talk, he's a proven progressive leader who has taken on big fights and won, and that he’s going to Washington to take on a rigged system and make sure Congress serves the people, not just the wealthy and powerful. 

SUMMARY - CABLE

The first priority is that voters getting information on cable during the weeks 5-3 of the election should see that:

• Daniel Biss is going after ICE’s un-American raids; they see clear imagery of him confronting ICE face-to-face. Biss ordered Evanston police not to cooperate with ICE, got rid of license plate readers when he found out ICE was using them, has held “Know Your Rights” events to help the community defend itself, and he even got tear-gassed protesting ICE raids. In Congress, he will ban Trump’s mass deportations, warrantless raids, and policies that rip families apart. Daniel Biss has also earned the endorsement of Rep. Jan Schakowsky. 

Updated signal for continued cable communications during weeks 2-1 will be made by 2/17.

SUMMARY - YOUTUBE

Only if the above priority is accomplished, then voters over 35 getting information on Youtube should see a mix of unskippable messages in weeks 5, 4 and 3 that:

• Daniel Biss believes universal health care is a right, and that we need to stop Republicans' assault on our health care system. In the Illinois state legislature, he voted to guarantee Obamacare would stay in place in Illinois even if Trump repealed it, and in Congress, he’ll vote for Medicare for All. He’ll also fight to undo Republican cuts to Medicaid and to stop pharmaceutical companies from price-gouging on lifesaving medications.

• Daniel Biss is going after ICE’s un-American raids.
